Embalse es un proyecto sobre un proyecto. Se trata del registro actual y el archivo de algunos de los complejos hoteleros inaugurados entre 1942 y 1957 en las sierras de Córdoba, creados para acoger a los miles de trabajadores que conquistaban, en la nueva Constitución, el derecho a las vacaciones pagas, entre otros beneficios. Nacían en Argentina los llamados Programas de Turismo Social.

Embalse posee además un interés subyacente, no del todo evidente pero que merece atención: lo serrano como escenario, como marca distintiva del paisaje cordobés.

Como todo documento histórico, Embalse es también una ficción, construida a partir de la combinación de sistemas tradicionalmente más rígidos, como la arquitectura y el archivo.

Embalse adquiere múltiples formas en cada experiencia expositiva y tiene también un fotolibro, editado por Asunción.

Embalse is a project about a project. It comprises the current record and archive of some of the hotel complexes inaugurated between 1942 and 1957 in the Córdoba mountains, created to accommodate the thousands of workers who, under the new Constitution, had won the right to paid vacations, among other benefits. These were the birthplace of what were known as Social Tourism Programs in Argentina.

Embalse also possesses an underlying interest, not entirely obvious but worthy of attention: the mountains as a setting, as a distinctive feature of the Córdoba landscape.

Like any historical document, Embalse is also a work of fiction, constructed from the combination of traditionally more rigid systems, such as architecture and the archive.

Embalse takes on multiple forms in each exhibition and is also available as a photobook, published by Asunción.
